Looking for free things to do with babies, toddlers and young children in East Suffolk? The Art Station in Saxmundham offers a welcoming programme of creative activities, outdoor play and family events designed to inspire curiosity, confidence and connection.

A highlight for local families is the free Forest Families programme. These weekly outdoor sessions invite children aged 0–6 and their parents or carers to explore, play and create together in the beautiful Old Bank Riverside Garden. Little ones can enjoy messy art, nature-based crafts, music, storytelling, gardening and wildlife discovery while parents have the chance to meet other local families in a relaxed outdoor setting.

Alongside Forest Families, The Art Station runs an inspiring year-round programme of exhibitions, workshops, talks, screenings and hands-on creative activities for all ages. From visual arts and photography to creative cooking and community projects, there are plenty of opportunities to learn new skills, explore creativity and spend time together.

Based in the heart of Saxmundham, the charity also cares for its beautiful riverside garden, provides volunteering, work experience and creative learning opportunities, and is passionate about making art accessible to everyone in the local community.
