Parenting can be one of the most rewarding experiences in life, but it can also be one of the most challenging.
You may spend so much time looking after everyone else that you've stopped checking in with yourself. Perhaps you're feeling overwhelmed, anxious, exhausted, or carrying the invisible mental load of family life. You might find yourself snapping more than you'd like, doubting your decisions, or wondering why everyone else seems to be coping better than you are.
Maybe you don't recognise yourself anymore. You love your children deeply, but feel guilty, disconnected, or as though you've lost the person you were before becoming a parent.
Whether you're preparing for a baby, adjusting to life with a newborn, parenting older children, supporting a child with additional or complex needs, or simply feeling the constant pressure of caring for everyone else, you don't have to carry it alone.
Counselling offers a space that is just for you. A place where you don't have to hold everything together or put everyone else's needs first.
I believe you are the expert on your own life. Rather than telling you what to do, I work alongside you to help you make sense of your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Together, we can develop a deeper understanding of what's happening for you, reconnect with your values and strengths, and work towards lasting, meaningful change.
I have additional training in perinatal mental health and a particular interest in supporting parents of children with additional or complex needs. My integrative approach draws on person-centred, Gestalt and transactional analysis theories, allowing therapy to be tailored to your individual needs.
I offer online, in-person, and walk and talk counselling in and around Brackley, Northamptonshire. I understand that family life can be busy, so together we can find an approach that works best for you.
Finding the right counsellor is important, which is why I offer a free 20-minute introductory call. It's an opportunity to talk about what brings you to counselling, ask any questions, and see whether we feel like a good fit.
I am currently welcoming enquiries for September appointments. If you're thinking about starting counselling, I'd be happy to hear from you so we can discuss how I can support you. If you're ready to make some space for yourself, I'd be happy to hear from you.
