Review: Little Brian Flip Paint Sticks, worth £6.99
Review by VIP Club Member Allie Kisiel
When I opened the parcel and pulled these paint sticks out my three year old daughter exclaimed ‘Wow, those are cool!’ and couldn’t wait to try them out. She first of all had to check out all the colours and was pleased when her favourite colour was in there.
You get six pens in the pack, but as they are double ended this means twelve different colours to choose from. You get pink and dark green, red and dark blue, black and orange, light blue and light green, purple and white, and yellow and brown. This set is a nice compact way to have access to twelve different colours to allow imaginations to run wild.
The paint sticks themselves were easy to open, my daughter could take the cap off, twist the paint stick up, and put the cap back on after she had finished all by herself, which is great as this means they can be used as a bit of solo play when I need to get a chore done.
The paint sticks are really nice to use, they glide over the paper smoothly and leave behind vibrant colourful marks. I also found it was easy to draw shapes and get a finer edge to my drawings than some other paint sticks I’ve tried – you can even draw handwritten words with them that are easy to read.
Next we thought we’d try some finger painting. We drew on our fingertips with the pens and pressed our fingertips onto the paper, which produced really clear fingerprints. The paint was then very easy to wash off our hands.
These pens are also a handy tool for teaching about colour mixing because if you draw a yellow line, and then a blue line over the top, and then rub it with your finger, you get green!
All in all we had a great time getting creative with these pens, and both can’t wait to get them out again another time!
