Review: Easter Fun at ROARR! Dinosaur Adventure

Review written by Pia Howe, Toddle About Suffolk

Looking for something fun to do this Easter? Then hop over to ROARR! Dinosaur Adventure in Lenwade, Norfolk and join Dippy and his friends for a special Easter treat.

We’ve been invited to find out more about their eggs-traordinary Easter activities and trails.

For those of you, who haven’t been to ROARR!, it is UK’s largest Dinosaur themed adventure park and must see for every dinosaur lover.

We’ve been to ROARR! with both of our boys (7 and 11 years) before so they were super excited that we were able to return this Easter.

Prepare for an all day experience and some exhausted and tired children at the end of the day. There is so much to do at ROARR! Next to the dinosaur themed attractions, the park also offers huge outdoor as well as indoor play areas, a splash park (open now and weather dependent), crazy golf, fossil dig in sandpits, secret animal garden, high ropes, a theatre, mini-motorised cars and so much more.

Sadly the rain and cold weather stopped us from using the splash park but worth keeping in mind to bring swim stuff for warmer days.

On arrival at the park you will be greeted by several dinosaurs including a giant T-Rex. Some of the dinosaurs move and make noises and they are all life size and therefore very realistic.

The boys also enjoy the variety of climbing equipment around the park. There is also a huge indoor soft play and slides should you need to seek cover from the rain or warm up with a hot chocolate. We did have lunch at the restaurant which is located in the indoor play area. We do however prefer the outdoor Fish & Chip takeaway which sadly wasn’t open on the day due to the weather.

Another highlight for the children is visiting the animals. There is a variety of animals at the park, from small reptiles, goats, rabbits, chickens, turkeys and our favourite, Ernie the tortoise.

This Easter you can enjoy special activities, such as art & crafts, trails and Easter egg hunt:

● Nursery rhymes come to life in Valley of the Dinosaurs - The storybook has been opened and nursery rhymes are coming to life amongst the dinosaurs in the Valley. Meet Little Bo Peep and see if you can help her to find her missing sheep. Step further through the Valley and discover the teddy bears having a picnic, and other favourites.

● Rainbow Easter egg hunt – Seven vibrantly coloured eggs will be hidden by Dippy around the Park each day. Each egg will contain a small prize or a voucher, you could win a book, toy, ROARR! gift voucher or even a ROARR! Annual Pass to continue your adventures throughout the year - happy hunting!

● ROARR-ing Rhymes Trail - Explore our Park and find the words that rhyme with ROARR! Spell out a secret message to claim your prize.

● Raz’s rhyme time – Join our resident rhyming raptor for fun beats and rhyming treats at Dippy LIVE.

● Easter craft sessions - Try your hand at writing your own nursery rhyme to go into Raz’s book of Easter rhymes.

● Kindness rainbow – Add your message to the kindness rainbow and watch it grow with lots of positive comments from all the guests and a few special friends that have explored ROARR!

The boys particularly enjoyed the craft sessions and the opportunity to write their very own Easter nursery rhyme as well as the egg hunt. Sadly we didn’t find an egg - I think we were too distracted by all the other activities and dinosaurs along the way. So make sure you keep your eyes peeled.

We did however find Little Bo Peep’s missing sheep and we managed to find the rhyming words and work out the secret message so the boys did get a small prize in the end.

If it wasn’t for the rain we would have packed a picnic as there are plenty of picnic areas. We did bring out wellies instead which wasn’t a bad idea, however, the paths have been surfaced so it makes it enjoyable to walk and pushchair friendly.

We had a wonderful time at the park and some pretty exhausted children in the car on the way home. We can highly recommend a visit!
