Review: Charlie Cook's Favourite Book

Review by Ally Richmond, Toddle About West Northants

We had the absolute pleasure of attending the Warwick Arts Centre this morning for the first showing of the day of Charlie Cook's Favourite Book.

A perfect morning theatre show for children 3+, I took a long my three and five year olds who are huge Julia Donaldson book fans.

A little walk from the car park, the Warwick Arts Centre is a lovely building, plenty of toilets, easy to access snack stands, not too pricey, and the theatre itself is airy and doesn't seem to matter where you sit, it's always a good view of the stage.

A 60 minute show which goes past in a flash, the cast were fantastic at keeping the attention of the audience for the whole time. It is a mix of inventive story telling, clever props and catchy songs.

Youngest daughter thoroughly enjoyed the book munching crocodile. My eldest was in hysterics at the funny frog and personally, I loved the owl judging a nest building competition.

Yet another wonderful Julia Donaldson book adaption and certainly one you'll love with your little ones if you have the chance to go and see the show.

Tickets still available at Warwick Art Centre for showings between 4th - 7th April.
