Review: Avery Row Baby Changing Backpack - Olive, worth £160
Review by VIP Club Member Jack Craddock
I had the pleasure of reviewing the Avery Row changing backpack and have been overall happy with it. It feels so well made, and the fact that it's been produced with recyclable materials makes it even better. The zips are easy to open and close one handed, which is a must when you have your hands full. The bag is padded throughout, meaning that the shoulder straps sit comfortably without digging in. The matching insulated zip bag is really handy for toddler snacks. It came with some very sturdy pram clips too, which means you don't have to carry it on your back all the time. It's very lightweight and 100% waterproof. The changing mat that it came with is good, although a little on the narrow side, which makes changing a little tricky especially if you have a chunky toddler who likes to roll around during nappy changes, like we do. Ironically, the changing mat isn't as padded as the actual bag itself. The handy pocket for the changing mat is good though, and you could put your own in there instead. There is also an insulated pocket for bottles in the front compartment. We have the green/purple colour way and it definitely looks nicer than a lot of the changing bags out there.

The bag is smaller than a lot of changing backpacks and doesn't have quite enough separate compartments, meaning it can be hard to find what you're looking for. Things get a bit lost in the main big pocket. The side pockets for bottles could do with being stretchy so that you can fit water bottles in without them pushing in on the things inside the bag.
Overall though, we have been impressed and will continue using the bag, but perhaps more as an extra backpack/overnight bag for our toddler/swimming bag, rather than as our main changing bag. At a retail price of £160 it seems very expensive for what it is.
