Review: Mini Tractor Ted Wooden Toy, worth £4.99

Mini Tractor Ted Wooden ToyReview written by Toddle About VIP Club member, Sarah Whitby.

We were very happy to hear that we had been chosen to do a review on the Mini Tractor Ted Wooden Toy and my little girl Chloe loves her new toy, as soon as we received the package and opened it she knew what it was.

The colour of the tractor is lovely and bright and it is very well made. Even though it is a small item she found it easy to handle. It has already had a lot of use in the short time that we have had it and it has taken a few knocks along the way but it is still in very good condition.

She has loved incorporating it in with her other toys and making games up with it and she loves to put her small paw patrol figures in it and they all get to have a ride in the tractor. One of the things that I like about it is the fact that it is a solid wooden toy, it doesn’t feel as cheap like some of the plastic versions do.  Continue reading

Review: The Girl Who Really, Really, Really Loves Dinosaurs Book, worth £6.99

The girl who really really really loves dinosaursReview written by Toddle About VIP Club member, Samantha Butler.

As a fan of dinosaurs for girls I was really excited to read this book with Aria.

Last night we snuggled up on the sofa to enjoy our evening read. As Aria is only 2 for her it’s more about the illustrations and sounds associated with a book rather than the actual story; but this book was perfect for that.

The bright illustrations really held her attention, after we had finished reading the book she enjoyed going back and pointing at the animals for me to imitate the sounds they make to her. Continue reading

Review: Tractor Ted Wooden Farm Toys in a Bag, worth £12.99

Tractor Ted Wooden Farm Toys in BagReview written by Toddle About VIP Club member, Christine and Thomas Justice (aged 3 years and 6 months) .

Who doesn’t love a beautiful wooden toy! When Toddle About gave us the opportunity to review the Tractor Ted Wooden Farm Toys I knew my son would give me his honest opinion.

In this set there are 8 wooden figures contained in a sturdy clear carry bag with a zip, 2 Tractors, 1 Digger, a Pig, a Sheep, a Duck, a Cow and a Horse.

The figures are a good size and smooth shape for smaller hands. No sharp edges or catchy bits, which is something I always look out for when I know that the tiny toddlers could easily get hold of them. Continue reading

Review: Zoom! Beep! Vroom! Busy Cities Book, worth £7.99

Zoom! Beep! Vroom! Busy Cities BookReview written by Toddle About VIP Club member, Sanna Khan.

My son and I enjoyed reviewing this book, I found it to be nice and sturdy and has some wonderful vibrant colours illustrated throughout the book with nice large pictures of different types of transport including a bus, train and ship in different cities around the world.

I found this book could be handy for children who may have difficulty with speech like my son does, as the words in the book are in short sentences and can help with pronouncing and understanding words and sounds which I found to be very useful, for example there was a picture showing a car and then the words surrounding it were vroom, beep and zoom. It is also ideal for parents who need a little help on the way to help your children with their reading and speech like myself.

This book makes learning a lot more interesting and fun and makes little ones feel more involved in story time and as the story in short, simple and bold, it can easily fit into their bedtime routine.

Review: Tractor Ted Wooden Toy, worth £12.99

Tractor Ted Wooden ToyReview written by Toddle About VIP Club member, Kimberley Warner.

I was so excited to receive this new addition to our ever growing selection of wooden toys and it was perfectly timed as the field opposite our house has just been inundated with Sheep!

Our little one has absolutely loved playing with Tractor Ted and loves getting all her little farm animals out to role play with it, what I love about open ended toys like this is how they can be added to many set ups and really open the imagination and increase things like vocabulary, she’s always bringing it over saying ‘Tractor’ and can now name her animals that would be on the farm. Review: Amawrap Baby Carrier/Sling, worth £39.99

AmawrapReview written by Toddle About VIP Club member, Zoe Calvey.

With not being a fan of dozens of clips and buckles, I love using wrap style slings and I am happy to say that the Amawrap did not disappoint.

Once you’ve had a bit of practice you soon get the hang of it and I can now tie it in under a minute! The Amwrap has a very helpful video to show you how it’s done as well as clear pictures in the instruction manual, it even shows you how to use the wrap in three carrying positions – hip, basic and newborn carry.

The sling is able to support newborns and children up to the weight of 15kg so I used this wrap with both my one year old son and my friend’s 3 month old baby.  The material is soft yet strong and it supported my 13kg son comfortably without causing me any discomfort.  It was really useful to have him in the hip carrying positions on days where he wanted to be held a lot – my hands were free to do other tasks! Review: Disney: The Simple Family Cookbook, worth £17.99

Disney: Simple Recipe CookbookReview written by Toddle About VIP Club member, Victoria Wade.

The Disney Simple Family Cookbook was really colourful and easy to follow, especially for little ones which is great. All of the recipes were simple, they only needed a few ingredients and the steps were basic enough to follow. Me and my daughter had a go at making the summer ratatouille and the chocolate mousse, I found both of the recipes were quick and simple to make, as well as fun to do together.

All of the recipes come with a prep and cook time so you know how long you’re going to be spending making each recipe in total which I think is really helpful.

I feel that the recipes were inventive, especially with how they linked to Disney.

I love the fact that the sweets don’t include refined sugar as I avoid it for my child and there were also plenty of meat free recipes as well.

Overall, I think the cookbook contains a lot of really good recipes, it is simple to use and you could make some fun and delicious recipes for all the family.

Review: AVEENO Baby Soothing Relief Cream and Wash, worth £17.00

AVEENO Baby Soothing Relief Cream and WashReview written by Toddle About VIP Club member, Sarah Pickering.

Having had 3 children with varying degrees of eczema I was keen to both try and review the Aveeno baby moisturiser and bath additive.

My 9 month old has dry skin on her face and arms, and through the winter it had become drier due to the weather.  I am sceptical when it comes to creams and like to use what I’m familiar with, however, I must say I was really pleased with the combination of both Aveeno products. The moisturiser worked well and over the period of a week I noticed an improvement in her skin. I used the cream 3-4 times a day on her face and twice on her arms and her cheeks have become less red and are no longer dry. Continue reading

Review: playHOORAY Mini Pack playPROMPTS, worth £17.25

playHOORAY Mini Pack playPROMPTSReview written by Toddle About VIP Club member, Kimberley Bick.

My little boy (just turned 2) have had great fun using the card prompts.  We’ve turned the music up and drawn to the music which was very funny as he kept having to stop to show me his dancing and then carry on but it’s amazing to see how much rhythm he has!

We’ve had a music day and filled empty bottles up with rice, sugar, pasta and water and added some elastic bands to a container and created a musical band for Mummy, Daddy, Seb and his big sister! We swapped them around and had a competition of who could be the loudest! Continue reading

Review: Johnson’s Shiny Drops Bundle, worth £10.47

Johnson's Shiny DropsReview written by Toddle About VIP Club member, Kerry Clayton.

We have loved using the Johnson Shiny Drops shampoo and spray in conditioner. My toddler isn’t keen on having her hair washed but she is intrigued by the shiny pink bottle. When we get it out at bath time she is much more receptive to having her hair washed given its eye catching colour. The shampoo smells lovely and lathers into a mass of bubbles. We have also used in on her baby sister even though it isn’t marketed as a baby shampoo, however none of it has ended up on her face yet so I don’t know if it is ‘tear free’ but it has been good on her scalp and hair, even with her cradle cap.
