Local Business Review: Postnatal Yoga with Lizzy
One mum’s view of these exercise classes for post-birth mums and their babies
By Jo Brinklow (and Alfie) from Long Buckby
Having attended pregnancy yoga and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I was keen to go along to the postnatal sessions or as us mums call it ‘baby yoga’. At first I was a little apprehensive as I was unsure how I would cope with such a young baby and exercising at the same time, but I thought I’ll give it a try. I am so glad that I did as both myself and my little boy have really enjoyed going every week to the sessions. Lizzy’s yoga sessions and really centred around the babies as well as providing exercises to get the mums fit and the dads! The atmosphere is very relaxing and you don’t feel afraid to either change nappies or feed when it is necessary. One of things I was initially worried about was my little one crying and disrupting the class however, this wasn’t a problem at all as all the mums felt the same and when my little one did cry I just moved to the side of the room and as soon as he was happy I then returned to the session.
The support you receive from Lizzy and the other mums is very reassuring. I would thoroughly recommend postnatal yoga to others as you benefit in so many ways from exercise run by a lovely lady who really cares about you as a person, an opportunity to meet new people and most importantly a chance to bond further with your baby.
