Review: My Fold Out Book Set

The brand new series from Priddy Books

The new My Fold Out series from Priddy Books are bound to be another great seller.

I would say that any child from the age of a few months to about 3 years would really enjoy these books. Recognisably Priddy in style, these fold out books have large, beautiful, vibrant photographs to depict different objects or animals – as we’ve said before, Priddy’s use of real photographs is something we love as it lets children see how things really look, rather than a characateur in an illustration. Each picture is very large, set on a bright, single-colour background with the word beneath telling the child what it is, making the pictures not only eye-catching for the youngest members of the family, but also making the books great for supporting the first steps towards reading with the older ones.

Of course, the stand out feature of these books is that they fold out on the floor. This is great for young babies on their tummies, giving them some very exciting pictures to look at. It is also fun for the older ones as they spread their new books out on the floor and practise their problem solving skills as they work out how the fold back up again.

The finish on the books is a very high standard, as you would expect. The pages are very thick and robust, and a tactile, matt finish to the page is accentuated by a gloss finish for the pictures themselves, which gives the books a lovely feel.
